BBP: "Öcalan cannot be released, the DEM Party must hang the Turkish flag in all provincial and district buildings"

BBP issued a written statement following the Presidential Council Meeting held today. In the statement, it was stated that the Republic of Turkey, after 40 years of struggle against terrorism, has defeated the PKK terrorist organization and brought it to the point of laying down arms, and said, "Since the day it was founded, the Grand Unity Party has regarded all kinds of organizations that do not use violence as a method and that have no organic relationship with terrorism as a democratic right and has followed a consistent policy in this regard. In this context, we are carefully and cautiously following the PKK's announcement today that it has 'laid down arms' and 'liquidated itself.' The statements of the PKK and its affiliated organizations, on the one hand, that they have laid down arms and dissolved themselves, and on the other hand, that they will carry out the disintegration project of Turkey with other methods, confirm our concerns and hesitations. Again, the statement of the PYD yesterday that it 'will not comply with the decisions of the Damascus Government' and 'will not put an end to the PYD structure' has once again confirmed our rightness. What Turkey must do is clear: All elements of the terrorist organization, including the KCK, PYD, PJAK and European structures, must be eliminated. The organization's drug trafficking, organ "All illegal activities such as trafficking, arms smuggling, extortion and racketeering and the income they earn from these activities must be terminated, and their cooperation with intelligence agencies targeting Türkiye, especially with Zionist power groups, must be terminated."

'AMNESTY FOR TERRORISTS IS UNACCEPTABLE'

The statement emphasized that the DEM Party's legitimacy in Turkish politics is only possible after the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish nation are convinced that the terrorist organization has been eliminated in Turkey, Iraq, Syria, Iran, and Europe. It continued, "The elimination process to be carried out in all the regions mentioned must be carried out under the control of the Republic of Turkey. Our state institutions have managed the process correctly to date. No steps that could be concessions to the terrorist organization have been taken, and the process has remained solely within the framework of the elimination of the terrorist organization. This meticulousness must be maintained from now on as well. We have confidence in our state. The process has been carried out without compromise until now. We hope that it will continue in the same manner. However, as we have always stated, we have no trust in the terrorist organization, its treacherous leaders, or the global imperialist and Zionist forces behind them. We must be vigilant against the possibility that terrorist leaders, who have chosen deception, deception, conspiracy, violence, and terror as a way of life, may again be engaged in a treacherous plan."

For this reason, we remain distant and cautious regarding the process. Öcalan cannot be released, and the murderers of tens of thousands of our citizens cannot be tolerated. Amnesty for terrorists, regardless of their name or form, is unacceptable, especially a general amnesty. As a test of sincerity, the DEM Party should display the Turkish flag in all provincial and district offices, affiliates, NGO, association, and foundation buildings. The Turkish flag should be hung and our National Anthem sung at party events. We are Turkish Nationalists. A fraternal atmosphere in Türkiye is our top priority. Of course, we are proud of our Turkishness. Similarly, we are honored to be the ummah of Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (peace be upon him). The proposal by DEM and some opposition parties to establish a specialized commission in the Turkish Grand National Assembly within the framework of the Terrorism-Free Turkey process, which should be established by law, contains dangerous and ideological objectives, such as autonomy, that could lead to ethnic divisions in our country. These objectives are primarily aimed at undermining Türkiye's unitary structure. The proposal for a permanent, legally established specialized commission is therefore extremely problematic. This political engineering project within the Turkish Grand National Assembly, which aims to undermine our national sovereignty and constitutional order under the guise of "democratization," carries the danger of paving the way for processes that are difficult to reverse. The abuses experienced during the peace process in the past must not be repeated.

'ISRAEL IS A SECURITY THREAT TO THE ENTIRE REGION AND TO HUMANITY'

The statement included the following statements regarding Israel's attacks on Syria:

We strongly condemn Israel's terrorist attacks against Syria. As a 'terrorist state' and 'rogue state,' Israel poses the most significant security threat to the entire region, the world, and humanity. Having slaughtered over 50,000 innocent civilians in Gaza, Israel continues its genocidal massacres in Syria. There can be no legitimate justification for striking the state institutions and army of Syria, which has already suffered significant damage from the civil war. The underlying reason for these vile attacks is nothing other than weakening the Syrian central government and ensuring the continuation of Israel's terrorist puppet organization, the PYD-SDF. Just yesterday, the US warned Israel not to attack Syria, and today, Israel's addition of new brutal attacks is one of the disgraceful manifestations of the US's 'Run for the rabbit, catch the hounds' policy in our region.
